WHAT IS EQUUS COACHING?
Horses don’t judge, analyse, or interpret. They respond. And in that response, they show us what’s really happening inside.

A particularly powerful moment unfolded during a session in the round pen. My client could not name what she was feeling or explain what was happening internally. Then, without warning, the horse lifted its head and took off galloping around us.
My client looked up at me, “That. That is exactly what’s going on in my head.”

Interpretation
The horse responded to what was happening beneath the surface. The pressure, overwhelm, and internal chaos that hadn’t yet found words were made visible through the horse’s behavior. By responding in real time, the horse revealed what the client’s nervous system was doing in that moment.
This is where the coaching begins. We notice patterns, listen to what the body is communicating, and create space for understanding and choice. The horse does not respond to our stories, but to what is true underneath them.
It is simple, embodied work that helps people see themselves clearly, honestly, and with compassion.
